Splash Damage Announcing Brink DLC Details!

Its been almost two to three weeks since Brink got released and by them some patches and updates have been given out by Splash Damage. Today, Splash Damage revealed that they will be releasing a DLC for Brink in PC, Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. The DLC contains many things such as new maps, new weapon attachments, new player abilities and much more. One big additional thing to all this will be the overall player statistics that will be pre-released to the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version of that will come, according to Splash Damage. The release for the statistics will come this Tuesday for Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. (like mentioned - a pre-release) Also noted is that the level cap in the game will be increased by 4 new levels which means that the maximum level will be: level 24.

The new FREE DLC is called “Agents of Changed” and is planned to be released somewhere in June.

    First Brink patch released (PC)

The first Brink patch for PC have been released. You download the patch when signing into your Steam client.

    PC Update
On the PC side, we’re pleased to report that we’ve put together our first game update, bringing two immediate improvements to Brink:

It greatly enhances the crash reports we’re getting through Steam, with more detailed information coming our way from now on. While this doesn’t sound very exciting for you as a player, it’s really useful for the Brink team as it’ll allow us to track down the underlying issues much more quickly and work on fixes for them – particularly stability issues relating to compatibility.

This update also fixes an issue where closing the game before getting to the character selection screen can corrupt your character data and make it unusable. Until the game update comes out, we strongly recommend not shutting Brink down during start-up to avoid this issue altogether.

Better yet, this update has just hit Steam and you can download it by simply signing into your Steam client.

In other PC news, we’ve also been working closely with the guys over at Bethesda Softworks to identify and solve any hardware compatibility issues that people have been reporting. For the AMD graphics card owners out there, make sure you’ve installed the latest AMD video drivers as that will solve a fair few of the visual and performance issues out there. Similarly, if you have an NVIDIA card and are experiencing issues with the game, make sure you’ve got the latest NVIDIA video drivers installed.

The next game update for the PC version is already in the works, and includes a fix for the FOV issue some of you have been reporting on the forums, among several other things. We’ll have more information to share on that soon.

They’ve also made some updates concerning the XBOX360 and PS3-versions of Brink along with information regarding the Brink statistics site that is schedule to be set up on the official site.

Brink is out in North America and here’s a first taste of the game.. Over two hours of footage (taken from the live stream of kaiico). It should be taken into consideration that this guy is playing Brink on his PS3 (which means it’s offline and the game might not function in the exact same way on the PC or the XBOX 360).

Brink will be released on PS3 across the UK this Friday, as planned - presumably without online multiplayer.

A question mark hung over the game’s arrival following the continued outage of PlayStation Network. But publisher Bethesda will stick to schedule, unperturbed.

“We’re still going ahead with launch this week,” a Bethesda spokesperson told Eurogamer this afternoon.
