While we are working on making the best possible site for competitive Brink coverage we will use this fully functional site to keep you updated on what's going on in the BRINKish world with our main focus on Europe and the competitive scene on PC.

Splash Damage Announcing Brink DLC Details!

Its been almost two to three weeks since Brink got released and by them some patches and updates have been given out by Splash Damage. Today, Splash Damage revealed that they will be releasing a DLC for Brink in PC, Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. The DLC contains many things such as new maps, new weapon attachments, new player abilities and much more. One big additional thing to all this will be the overall player statistics that will be pre-released to the Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. A PC version of that will come, according to Splash Damage. The release for the statistics will come this Tuesday for Xbox360 and PlayStation 3. (like mentioned - a pre-release) Also noted is that the level cap in the game will be increased by 4 new levels which means that the maximum level will be: level 24.

The new FREE DLC is called “Agents of Changed” and is planned to be released somewhere in June.

A small cut from the Splash Damage blog has been snatched and quoted:

    New Maps

    • Founders’ Tower – The revolution finally reaches the island’s iconic spire and takes the battle for the Ark to dizzying heights.
    • Labs – Venture into the depths of the Ark’s original research and development laboratories, a submerged high-tech facility so far untouched by the civil war.

    New Player Abilities

    • UAV – This stealthy and lethal device allows Operatives to automatically mark nearby enemies on their radar. For more explosive fun, they can even take direct control of the UAV and detonate it near unsuspecting foes.
    • Napalm Grenade – Soldiers can use this new grenade to cover an area in a sea of deadly flames.
    • Pyro Mine – Engineers can plant these mines and leave enemies in the epicenter of a massive napalm explosion.
    • Field Regen Unit – Medics can deploy these units to increase the health regeneration of any nearby teammates.
    • Tactical Scanner – This universal ability allows players to reveal the active buffs of their opponents, allowing them to pick off enemies more strategically.

    New Weapon Attachments

    • Bayonets – Gain the edge in melee combat and cause extra damage with these deadly blades.
    • Weapon Shields – Take cover from enemy fire and prevent headshot bonus damage behind riot-style shields.

    New Character Outfits

    • The Sad Punk – Add a touch of Steampunk to your Resistance character.
    • The Limey – Bring order to the Ark with this outfit inspired by traditional European police lawmen.

The above add-ons plus the new player statistics and level cap to 24 will be added. A full post (and list) can be read on the Splash Damage blog post here!

Although this seems fairly nice - the biggest questions now popping up in many peoples heads are how the restrictions will be done. As we already know - the competitive scene has some restrictions on some player abilities and some maps are not yet balanced to be official competitive. What the speculations there are for now yet unknown. But if it plays it cards right - not only will be public realm have its fun but also - and hopefully - the competitive realm as well.

So stay tuned for the new DLC for Brink called “Agents of Change” that will come out somewhere in June. If it will cost is yet unknown - but we all can hold our fingers crossed to get some free candy.
